We thank Prof. Constantinos Delta and the Centre of Excellence for Biobanking and Biomedical Research bionank.cy for the very interesting presentation "The Cyprus Biobank and the DNA of Cypriots", organised on the 5th of October at the Observatory's premises.
The aim of the presentation was to inform the members and friends of the Observatory about their voluntary participation in a nationwide research that will help to identify particular features in the DNA of Cypriots that may be responsible for genetic or other diseases. The ultimate goal is that the knowledge gained will be used as a tool for disease prevention and prognosis and in the development of new treatments for the Cypriot population.
