Today we celebrate Europe and the values that bring us together: peace, democracy, dignity, and equal rights for everyone, at every age.

Because democracy shines brightest when every voice joins in including the voices of older people.

Article 25 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights guarantees older persons the right to a life of dignity, independence and full participation in social and cultural life. Today, we celebrate that right and the people who bring it to life every day.

That is the spirit of AGES (Active Governance and Engagement for Seniors) Across Europe, we arebringing seniors, civil society and decision-makers together; through consultations, focus groups, webinars and policy dialogue, so that older people don't just have a voice, they help shape the conversation.

We celebrate a Europe that listens, includes, and grows stronger with every generation.
