Meeting with Mr. Paris Christodoulides, a candidate for the Strovolos City Council

The Cyprus Third Age Observatory recently held a pivotal meeting with Mr. Paris Christodoulides, a candidate for the Strovolos City Council, as part of its commitment to fostering an open dialogue with candidates for the upcoming local government elections.

 

The discussion centered on addressing the challenges encountered by the elderly population in Strovolos, exploring strategies to enhance their involvement in both societal and economic spheres. Notably, the Mentoring Across Borders initiative, championed by the Observatory, was highlighted, showcasing the potential of engaging seniors as mentors for at-risk youth. Additionally, the conversation delved into avenues for promoting dignified and high-quality aging, tackling preventative healthcare measures, and advocating for Strovolos to become an age-friendly municipality.


Mr. Christodoulides shared his proposals aimed at supporting individuals aged 65 and above, emphasizing his dedication to fostering their well-being, empowerment, and social integration within the Strovolos Municipality. He pledged to collaborate closely with the Cyprus Third Age Observatory to implement targeted programs designed to meet these objectives.
